Sense. Soften. Integrate.
A body-based framework for regulation, resilience, and embodied change.
The body is always communicating.
Through sensation, breath, movement, tension, rhythm, stillness, and subtle shifts in awareness, the body gives us information about how we are experiencing ourselves and the world around us.
Embodied Regulation Method™ (ERM™) is a practitioner-developed framework for working with that information.
ERM™ brings together therapeutic touch, somatic awareness, breath, movement, and integrative body-based practices to support a client's capacity for regulation, resilience, awareness, and integration.
Rather than asking the body to simply relax, ERM™ invites us to listen to what the body is already communicating and create conditions for something new to become possible.
The body doesn't need to be forced into change.
It needs the opportunity to experience it.
A Different Way of Working With the Body
Many practitioners understand the importance of the nervous system.
ERM™ asks us to take that understanding one step further:
What happens when nervous-system awareness becomes part of the way we actually work with the body?
ERM™ provides practitioners with a cohesive framework for integrating embodied awareness into their existing professional practice.
It is not a replacement for massage therapy, yoga therapy, somatic therapy, or other established disciplines.
It is a way of working within them.
Sense. Soften. Integrate.
The ERM™ framework is built around three simple principles:
SENSE
Notice what is happening within the body.
SOFTEN
Create space for greater awareness, responsiveness, and ease.
INTEGRATE
Allow new experiences to become part of the body's ongoing capacity for adaptation.
From Technique to Facilitation
ERM™ is not simply a sequence of techniques to memorize.
The practitioner learns to observe, listen, respond, and adapt.
This means developing greater awareness of:
The goal is not to force a particular outcome.
The goal is to become increasingly skilled at creating conditions in which the client's own embodied process can unfold.
